Sphagnum moss is a versatile and highly beneficial growing medium for a variety of plant species and other living creatures. It is an all-natural, pure and dried form of moss that is free from artificial coloring. With excellent water retention and ventilation properties, sphagnum moss helps in keeping the roots hydrated, promotes healthy root growth, and reduces the risk of fungal and mold infestations.
Each pack of Sphagnum Moss is around 100g / 2 Liters.
Sphagnum moss is widely used in bonsai, orchid, carnivorous plant cultivation, and Japanese Kokedama plantings. It is also an ideal medium for plant propagation by cuttings and woody cuttings. Additionally, it can be used in terrariums as a substrate for amphibians and reptiles and as a decoration medium for mini gardens, air plant terrariums, and other crafts.
To use sphagnum moss, it should be sprayed or soaked in water for 24 hours, squeezed out, and fluffed up in the hands before use. As a top dressing for bonsai trees, it should be spread around the tree in a thin layer. For layering plants, it should be wetted and added to the layering process along with a rooting hormone.
Sphagnum moss should be kept moist and not exposed to direct sunlight. Rainwater or filtered water should be used to preserve its beneficial properties.
(!) The Sphagnum moss bag may contain some small insects as it is harvested naturally from the forest floor without the use of pesticides.
